In 2016 the Kodály National Conference was held from 26 – 29 September at the beautiful and historic All Hallows School, in Brisbane, Queensland.
Keynote Speakers for 2016 were Lucinda Geoghegan, Education Director for the National Youth Choir of Scotland, Dr. habil. László Nemes, professor of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, and Georgia A. Newlin DMA, Coordinator of Music Education at Adelphi University in the USA.
Key Australian and International Presenters also inspired with their skills encompassing composing, conducting, teaching, lecturing, vocal health and music technology. For a downloadable information sheet on the presenters, please see below.
Attendees also had a chance to participate in Elective and Methodology Sessions, community sings and concerts, and Chamber Choir. For more details on the sessions and on the program, download the file below.
There was also a Film Screening of the movie ‘When we sing …’ presented by Fine&Clear Productions, a joyful exploration of Zoltan Kodaly’s revolutionary approach to unlocking musicality in teachers and their students, choir leaders and choristers through the work of Australian educator Dr James Cuskelly.
